Sector Committee Members
The application process for our 2022 Sector Committees is officially underway!
Every year, ClimateActionWR recruits subject matter experts and passionate community members to join one of our three committees, which relate to one of the three largest greenhouse gas (GHG) emitting emitting sectors within Waterloo Region:
• Transportation Sector Committee
• Workplaces Sector Committee
• Residential Sector Committee
Sector committees take a ‘birds-eye’ view of their sector, being aware of initiatives related to climate change mitigation within the boundaries of Waterloo Region. They take on projects and initiatives related to their sector, to accelerate progress toward achieving our community’s GHG reduction targets: 50% GHG reduction by 2030, and an 80% GHG reduction by 2050. Sector committee projects are aligned with the actions outlined in our community climate action strategy, TransformWR.
Sector committee applicants must agree to participate for the full 2022 calendar year, which includes one monthly meeting (1.25 hours), three ‘All committee meetings’ (every 4 months), and at least 4 hours of additional contributions monthly (total of ~6 hours monthly).
