Taking on Climate Change: Free Community Workshops

Start the Conversation. Spark Action. Build Change.

More and more people are feeling concerned about climate change, but many aren’t sure where to start. That’s where we come in.

Whether it’s understanding how climate change is shaping our everyday lives or figuring out what real impact looks like close to home, these are important questions, and we’re here to explore them together.

ClimateActionWR offers free, interactive workshops designed to spark meaningful conversations, deepen understanding, and empower residents across Waterloo Region with simple, practical ways to take action.

What You’ll Learn

Our sessions help participants:

  • Discover how climate change is already affecting our local communities
  • Understand where most of Waterloo Region’s emissions come from
  • Identify practical, everyday steps that individuals, families, and organizations can take to collectively make a difference

Each workshop is engaging, approachable, and customized for your group, whether you’re part of a neighbourhood association, faith community, workplace, service club, school, or local organization.

Together, we’ll explore what a low-carbon, sustainable Waterloo Region looks like and how every one of us can be part of the solution.

Why Host a Workshop?

These workshops are a great way to:

  • Start or strengthen climate and sustainability conversations in your community
  • Engage your team, members, or neighbours in a shared purpose
